We have worked with a local processor to come up with a USDA approved recipe that is as natural and wholesome as possible, free from nitrates, msg, corn syrup, etc. so commonly used in beef stick formulations. Although the amount of sugar is very small (under a gram) we are excited to have an opportunity to work with a new seasoning supplier to swap the regular sugar to the newly available option of organic, raw cane sugar, we hope to fully transition to that in the next 3-6 months.

In the meantime, please know that our beef sticks are crafted with approximately 10% organ meats, making them a richer source of bioavailable nutrients like vitamin B12, vitamin A, and copper compared to many other beef stick options.

We are not certified organic, because that is a costly process and we feel like is really just a label used when there isn't a transparent relationship with the farmer. But we would say we are "beyond organic" and especially focus on regenerating the land & managing our cattle in a way that builds and heals the soil. We never treat our pastures with any herbicides or chemicals of any kind. And we always try to source hay that has not been treated either.

We are passionately opposed to GMOs of any kind. Unlike many “grassfed” producers, we DO NOT feed them alfalfa hay, because the vast majority of alfalfa is GMO and sprayed with glyphosate.

We don't use vaccines as a rule. Some farmers believe them to be required to keep animals alive, however, we believe there are potential side effects that are not worth it! If we buy replacement cattle from other farms, it’s possible they may have received an early vaccine when they were young, but we try to source our cows as naturally as possible.

We never use antibiotics as a whole herd or routine treatment. We only use antibiotics on our cows in the same way we would use them ourselves, to help in the case of dire sickness or injury.

Note: The “antibiotic-free” label at the grocery store does not mean they were not given antibiotics ever. It means they didn't receive any shortly before slaughter.
